Our sites had full hookups, including cable TV.  The fire pit look like it had never been used.  We stayed two nights and had a campfire each night.  The campground store even sold firewood, but it didn't appear as though anyone had a campfire while we were there.  Must be traveling the next morning I guess.

The weather was ideal.  Low 70s during the day, upper 40s-low 50s at night.

If you're looking for a campground near the central FL attractions, this might be a good choice for you.

The wind picked up for a while, but never did get any rain.  I'm assembling a small portable BBQ from Walmart.

This is was one of the few campgrounds I've ever seen that didn't use a 4x4 post to protect the water line.  Instead, they used a flimsy piece of PVC above the ground.  A nameless person accidentally kicked it, shearing it off at ground level.  Old Faithful washed down their camper.

While they were off seeking help, I put on my poncho, and carved a plug from a piece of palm frond.

I wedged it into the broken pipe.

Tapped it home with the broken piece of pipe.  A little while later the park service guy showed up and turned off the water to repair the line.  Other than a little embarrassment, and a $10 fee, no big deal.  The poncho worked well until water shot up my armpit!

We enjoyed Smores one night, homemade ice-cream the other night.
