RV LED Awning & Patio Lights

The LED strip on our previous Class A motorhome failed.  It slowly grew dimmer over time.  It is very simple to replace with another peel & stick LED roll, that already has wires connected on one end.  Even if your RV didn't have existing wiring, you only need to supply 12V to these LEDs.  Many older RVs have a basic incandescent light fixture by the door.  These LEDs can be tied into the same wiring as they are very low current.

I bring an extendable ladder with us.  It collapses very small, making for easy storage in a bay.

The old LED strip was peeled off, and the old adhesive removed with alcohol prep pads.

The roll of LEDs is 16.4' long.

The LEDs are encased in a clear silicone.  This product is made for outdoor use.

I used butt splices and a crimper to connect the LED strip to the existing wiring on the motorhome.

Just peel and stick.  Very easy.

This slideout isn't very long, so I only needed a portion of the roll.  The LEDs are easily cut with scissors, or diagonal cutters.  Just look for the "cut" symbol on the strip, which is every 3 LEDs.  With the wiring complete, I turned on the lighting.

During the evening, these are very bright, lighting the patio area nicely.
